■ A GOAL in each half gave Stamford the three points they required to secure a spot in the play-offs.
Jonathan Margetts opened the scoring when he charged down a clearance and the ball rebounded fortuitously off the delighted striker into the back of the net.
Town keeper James Martin made several stops in the first half to prevent the visitors extending their lead.
Town improved in the second half and Jack Finch had an effort blocked on the line by Dan Haystead as the home side looked to draw level.
