ANDREW Johnson’s early goal proved decisive as Morpeth Town earned a vital win at home to FC United of Manchester in the Pitching In NPL Premier Division.
Both sides went into the game seeking to keep alive their play-off hopes and both knew their chances would, in reality, end with defeat at Craik Park.
The visitors were in Milan in midweek, as part of a continental Non-League tournament, but showed no ill effects in the early stages.
