■CHERTSEY Town moved to the edge of a play-off place after an encounter with visitors Binfield that failed to hit the heights. There were only cameo moments of brilliance to match the afternoon’s bright sunshine.
A goal in each half by the home side was enough to secure the points.
Binfield never created a worthwhile effort at goal so Chertsey’s pair created a comfortable cushion.
