MASTER tactician Andy Woodman always knew Michael Cheek would score the winner at Wembley – but revealed his star striker didn’t speak to him in the build-up.
In managing the workload of his top scorer, the Bromley chief left Cheek out of a couple of National League games in preparation for the Trophy showdown – adecision which didn’t go down too well with the 30-year-old.
“I said to him he needed rest but he didn’t get it,” Woodman revealed. “He didn’t talk to me last week because I left him out (against King’s Lynn).
