HILLTOP ON HIGH, STAINES SORROW

HILLTOP have been promoted to the top flight of the Combined Counties League for the first time following the demise of Staines Town.
Staines, who were formed in 1892, were relegated from Isthmian South Central after finished bottom last season and were due to play in the Combined Counties Premier North.
But Staines suspended activities in March after a long dispute with their landlord, and this week their website and other social media pages ceased to function, indicating that the final whistle may have been blown on 130 years of history.
