ISTHMIAN Premier new boys Aveley began a hectic weekend on Friday night by taking on National League big guns Dagenham & Redbridge at Parkside, going down by a single Omar Mussa goal.
Mussa, a summer signing from Weymouth, settled an otherwise competitive Essex derby just past the hour, finishing well after fine work from striker Paul McCallum.
