ARMSTRONG RETURNS TO HAUNT HEED

GATESHEAD slipped to a fifth defeat from six in pre-season as former favourite Luke Armstrong scored twice on his return to Tyneside.
Neither keeper made a save in a tepid first half, though Heed home debutant Dan Langley twice picked the ball out of the net, the first after just four minutes.
The impressive Alex Pattison’s low cross was turned in by trialist Tyler Frost. Then a double error from home defender Carl Magnay was punished by Armstrong five minutes from the break. A livelier second half saw Pattison denied by Langley...
