A slow first half saw no shots on target for either team with the game being a midfield contest. 1874 started quickly in the second, Joe Woolley forcing Allen in the Prescot goal in to a smart save.
Ellis Allen, on his debut for 1874, made a point-blank save with five minutes left to keep it level.
Down the other end, Sam Adetiloye danced rounded two men to fire a shot into the bottom corner only to be denied by another great save from Allen in the Prescot goal
