BRIGHTLINGSEA bounced back from their midweek home hammering by Canvey to hard-earn their first points of the season, thanks to Connor Barmby’s double.
The five-one defeat to the newly-promoted Gulls, having led in the first minute, was the stuff of nightmares.
The R’s nearly got off to a dream start yesterday though, when Barmby sweetly struck a volley from the edge of the box.
Unfortunately, with Gate keeper Amadou Tangara beaten, the ball bounced back off the foot of the post.
