DEFENCES came out on top as Bedfont Sports and Chipstead Town played out a dull stalemate.
With both sides struggling to muster any goals this season, there was no surprise this one ended goalless after a game of limited chances to write home about.
It was Chipstead who were more wasteful in front of goal, with Gary Ross in the Sports goal making two big saves either side of the half-time interval to earn his side a share of the spoils.
Sports could have won the game late on, but Sam Evans saw his attempted chip saved.
