■ EAST GRINSTEAD’S goalkeeper Matte Pierson put in a superb performance but he could do nothing about Sheppey’s goal after 39 minutes when Jack Midson reacted quicker to score.
The second half started with Sheppey controlling the midfield but without creating any clear openings until substitutions by East Grinstead turned things round.
