■ CARLOS EDWARDS was the hero as Bury Town grabbed a late winner.
Basildon started the game brightly and hit the crossbar twice. Daniel McCullock’s free-kick rattled the woodwork before Shane Temple hit the bar with his follow up.
It was then Bury’s turn to hit a post after nine minutes when Cruise Nydazayo’s effort was deflected on to a post by Ayo Shogbeni. After the break Bury kept patiently working the ball forward, a job which got much easier when Kye Jude was given a red card for dangerous play.
