DAVENTRY made the perfect start in a five-goal thriller at Elderstubbs with Jack Bowen heading home a Bleu McNeil cross early on.
Town keeper James Martin made the first of three excellent stops from Zayn Hakeem in the 27th minute. Town extended their lead when George Ball fired home.
Jake Betts’ overhead kick was deemed to have crossed the line but their plight was not helped by Massiah McDonald’s second yellow.
