■ A GOAL six minutes from time from Dan Hector won it for the Tanners, but Merstham will look back on several gilt-edged chances they failed to take as the reason they remain rooted at the bottom.
Merstham started well and both Charlie Greenwood and Charlie Alexiou should have scored in the opening ten minutes.
But Leatherhead settled into the game and the half ended goalless.
