WHY is it that coaches and managers these days think they have the right to use an opponent’s pitch to warm-up pre-match?
My club does not have the luxury of a separate warm-up area, all we have is a pitch and a couple of metres either side of the touchlines.
So, when teams turn up, out come all the cones and slalom poles, then up to 16 players concentrate in a small area to carry out their routines.
All this work does far more damage than the game itself, and then the groundstaff are expected to get the pitch ready for the next game which may only in two or three days.
