MATT STEPS ASIDE

MATT Barnes has quit as manager of Runcorn Town after just six months in charge.
His backroom staff of Sean Cookson, Peter Boyle, Lewis Clemmett and Lee McDonagh have also left with Town fourth from bottom of the North West Counties Division One North.
Barnes was appointed at the end of May after Runcorn were relegated from the Premier Division and was charged with rebuilding the side from scratch with no players on the books.
