COMEBACK kings Congleton Town made ten-man Lye Town rue their lack of composure in a Vase classic.
Peter Williams cancelled out Josh Hesson’s opener for Lye. The latter promptly doubled his tally, before teammate Sam Hall added his name to the scoresheet from a corner to put the Flyers 3-1 up after just 26 minutes.
Thomas Pope did the lord’s work for Congleton, reducing the arrears in first-half stoppage time, inspiring Town to level through George Sankey on 51 minutes.
