YORK City boss David Webb has targeted Boxing Day’s visit of Gateshead for his return to the touchline.
Webb missed his first game in charge of the Minstermen at Woking last Saturday after being taken to hospital with Covid and a lung infection.
But now the 42-year-old has been discharged from hosiptal and is making positive steps in his recovery.
Assistant Michael Morton led the 2-0 victory over the Cards and has remained in constant communication with Webb via zoom meetings and phone calls.
Webb said: “It’s been very frustrating for me personally not being able to be with the team at training and missing the Woking game.
“I am making good progress with my recovery, and I’m very much looking forward to my first home game in front of our fantastic supporters.”
