■ TEN-man VCD Athletic held Haywards Heath Town to a point in the Isthmian League South East Division, as Alex Laing’s second-half strike was canceled out by an equaliser from the visitors.
The game could have gone either way, as both sides remained resolute to enter the break, with chances coming few and far between.
The deadlock was finally broken midway through the second period, however, when Laing spectacularly fired into the back of the net straight from his free-kick to open the score in stunning fashion.
