DANNY Whitehall scored a late winner to help Eastleigh through to the last 16 at the expense of brave Braintree Town.
Striker Whitehall fired home a stunning 18-yard shot 11 minutes from time to see off the National League South visitors who had given them more than the odd scare.
Indeed, Eastleigh keeper Joe McDonnell was forced to pull off a number of fine saves, the first of which to deny Aaron Blair early on following a corner.
