GUISELEY delighted their support when they defeated top of the table South Shields at home, thanks to a late penalty.
Based on the previous five matches, the league leaders knew it would be a tough game.
Guiseley had the first opportunity of the match when a Jake Cassidy cross was backheeled by Lewis Whitham just wide of the goal.
Then South Shields nearly took the lead when a deflected shot ended up at the feet of Darius Osei, who saw his near post effort well tipped over by Guiseley keeper Cam Mason.
