IT WAS plain sailing for JD Welsh Cup holders The New Saints as they moved effortlessly into the quarter-finals with a 7-0 win over fellow Cymru Premier side Newtown.
Three goals in the opening 16 minutes turned the game into a formality. It was 4-0 by half-time and then a magnificent seven by the end as the Robins were put to the sword. Two first half goals from Ilan ap Gareth and Dan Andrews gave Holywell Town a 2-0 interval lead at the home of fellow JD North side Guilsfield and the Wellmen were able to hang on to reach the final eight after a 2-1 win. ...
