■ IN a game which never sparked into life a goal from Cambridge’s Tom Waulmsley was the difference for Cambridge City.
A first half void of real chances saw Jarid Robson have the first effort, firing wide after 18 minutes.
Cambridge took the lead after 54 minutes. A long distance effort from Jake Battersby was fumbled by Brandon Ganley and Waulmsley converted the rebound.
Shepshed only had two clear chances, a Jake Betts header saved just after the hour mark and a long distance effort from from Jorrin John.
