IT was a relegation six-pointer as COLFC hosted Hanley Town at Vesty Road.
The visitors almost opened the scoring after a minute through a Kieran Brown header which was somehow clawed out of the top corner by Ben Barnes.
City of Liverpool got the game’s only goal after 30 minutes. Danny Mitchley was felled by player-manager Ryan Shotton as he turned in the box for a stonewall penalty.
John McGrath’s low effort from the spot was pushed out by Dale Eve but first to the rebound was Jack Hazlehurst to head across the prone keeper.
