NEWCASTLE Town secured an impressive win at Bootle.
The first event of the game saw the hosts forced into an early sub as Si Wills replaced Billy Smart. Debutant keeper Archie Cunningham was in action shortly after, but was unphased by Luke Walsh’s effort for the visitors. The deadlock was broken by James Askey as he headed home from an Oliver Ritchie free kick.
The lead was doubled by Ryan Baxter when he raced onto a Will Lloyd pass and finished.
A resurgent Bucks came back strong, laying siege to the visitors’ goal.
