SOME 836 fans watched an enthralling promotion battle that got better as the game progressed.
Hyde suffered a double blow - asending off and a penalty against - on 59 minutes when Callum Spooner brought down Karl Demidh.
Al Byrne gave Matlock the lead from the spot, but the ten men of Hyde responded and levelled through Jack Redshaw on 83 minutes to earn a share of the spoils.
