A DULL encounter went the way of Stratford Town as a deflected Josh Hawker effort settled an important encounter with Needham Market at Bloomfields.
The Marketmen had a great chance after only six minutes, a leftwing cross from range found Luke Ingram on the edge of the box, but his powerful header was comfortably held by the keeper.
Stratford broke the deadlock after 14 minutes, Hawker’s left-footed shot from 25 yards taking a deflection to wrong-foot Marcus Garnham and fly into the roof of the net.
