■ PRESCOT CABLES and Kidsgrove Athletic played out a goalless draw with neither side capable of opening up the opposition defence despite having good chances to do so.
The home side went in at half-time wondering how they were not in front by at least a goal.
Kyle Sambor had an excellent chance cleared off the line and then Anthony Donaldson saw his follow-up effort also cleared.
Kidsgrove did have the ball in the net on the half hour, however the raised flag of the linesman meant his effort would not stand.
