■ JOSH Short’s second goal in as many games plunged ten-man VCD Athletic further into relegation trouble.
Short made it six for the season, slotting home a good finish seven minutes after half-time, this after Dion Jarvis had done the hard yards with a surging run down the left.
Jarvis should have opened the scoring in the first half when he raced clear, but with the goal at his mercy he fired wide of the target.
Visiting keeper Jordan Gilmore kept his side in the game with several fine saves, the second goal remaining elusive.
