HITCHIN endured a long trip home pondering what might have been having received a lesson in taking chances at Redditch.
Captain Jack Byrne thumped a header back across goal from Max Sheaf’s corner to hand the Reds a third-minute lead, setting in motion an open match of many openings.
Danny King’s rising drive was pushed wide by Canaries keeper Charlie Horlock, with Ioan Richards and Ryan Wollacott denied from the corners that followed before the visitors started to make an impression.
