AN extremely hard- fought win on the road takes Coalville to top spot thanks to the resurgent Rushden and Diamonds taking a point at Tamworth.
But relegation-threatened St Ives gave it their all and were unfortunate to come away with nothing as they pummelled the champions elect in the second half.
But despite Johnny Edwards pulling a goal back in the 65th minute, they were otherwise unable to find a route through the visitors’ resolute back line, expertly marshalled by Chris Robertson.
