MERTHYR TOWN ensured Hanwell Town first ever league trip to Wales ended in a defeat.
All the scoring came in a frantic ten minutes midway through the first half.
In the 21st minute, Merthyr’s Tom Handley collected a pass out wide, cut inside and smashed a longrange shot into the bottom corner. The lead lasted only four minutes as Abdul Osman fired home.
Barely a minute later, the Martyrs were awarded a penalty which Lewis Powell smashed into the roof of the net.
