URCHINS STAY IN THE HUNT FOR TOP SPOT

HORNCHURCH remain firmly within the title race following victory over local rivals Billericay.
It was the Urchins who applied the early pressure and when a cross was cleared only as far as Liam Nash, his well struck volley was well saved by Blues keeper Harry Seaden.
This was followed shortly after with a surging Ade Yusuff run and cross that picked out Sam Higgins whose shot was fired inches over the bar.
Seaden was called into action again – diving smartly to deny a Higgins freekick on the edge of the box.
