IVES took a big step to safety as they inflicted another heavy blow on the stuttering Lambs’ title ambitions.
Well-taken first-half goals from Michael Richens and leading scorer Jonny Edwards were the highlights for the home supporters.
The opener in the 11th minute was a blow to the visitors who managed to lose Richens at a corner and the Ives skipper punished them by powering home his free header.
The visitors were caught out again when Edwards evaded the offside trap to prod home Richens knock down two minutes before the break.
