IT was a day of celebra- at the Leasing.com ■tion Stadium as Macclesfield FC lifted the NPL West trophy after a point with Prescot.
The Merseyside outfit took a deserved lead just before the half-hour mark as Francis Smith’s free-kick found the bottom corner, despite the best efforts of Wyll Stanway. The Silkmen equalised from the spot though as Neil Kengni was fouled in the area and James Berry confidently slotted home.
The visitors regained the advantage when Jack Godwin’s deflected effort sent keeper Stanway the wrong way.
