GOALS from Dale Whitham and Kielen Adams were enough to secure the three points for Ashton United at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
There were few opportunities for either side in the early stages of the first half, although Isaac Sinclair came close for Brig on eight minutes - his effort went just wide.
The visitors took the lead on 38 minutes, with Witham getting on the end of Jason Gilchrist’s cutback and slotting home.
Fin Sinclair-Smith almost levelled the scores shortly before half-time, but was denied by a Thomas Scott save....
