■ CITY of Liverpool could not find a way past inspired Witton Albion goalkeeper Ollie Martin as both teams ended the season with successive goalless stalemates.
Kevin Ellison had most reason to curse on the hour mark when his header was diverted brilliantly around a post after a slick Purps move on the left ended with Jack Hont’s cross.
Martin had saved smartly at the near post an attempt by Michael Fitzgerald before the break, and Jordan Barrow smuggled Nick Ryan’s follow-up shot off the line.
