LONG-SERVING Met Police chairman Des Flanders has thanked The FA and its Leagues Committee for giving the club an opportunity to sustain themselves at Step 4.
The East Molesey-based outfit sought a voluntary relegation from Southern Premier South after their resources were squeezed by soaring costs and reduced income. They have also scrapped their reserve team.
The powers-that-be backed them and now the Met are looking forward to lining up in Isthmian South Central next season.
