THE step up in opposition proved too much for Marine as goals either side of the interval gave Chester the win in their final pre-season friendly.
The first half was awash with missed opportunities at both ends, with both attacks applying ample pressure. For Chester, Iwan Murray and Elliott Whitehouse caused trouble, while the Mariners full backs attacked from the flanks throughout.
