■HENRY Watson headed in from a corner to earn Lancing victory over visitors Merstham.
Lancing had looked the most likely to make an early breakthrough and it needed a fine one-handed save from keeper Zak Basey to keep out a goal-bound effort from George Taggart after six minutes.
Despite being outplayed, Merstham had the best scoring opportunity, but Lancing keeper Alieu Secka was quick off his line to deny their centre forward.
