■A FIVE-STAR performance from Bedford meant an emphatic victory to start the league campaign.
The Eagles took the lead in the 19th minute with a quick counter attack. Ben Spaul had the shot, and Jack Hopwood got a hand to the ball, but couldn’t stop it crossing the line. A couple of minutes later Jack Green made sure from close range following a Bedford corner. Just before halftime, a stooping header from Ryan Blake gave Bedford a 3-0 lead.
