■ THE LAMBS welcomed League newcomers Bemerton Heath, taking a step up from the Wessex League, only to be beaten at home. It was Tavistock who started off the better side with a series chance, all coming to nothing.
The visitors took the lead after the half-hour when Holmes was allowed to run deep, shooting low past keeper Aaron Dearing.
