A JADED and tired Marine side missed the opportunity to build on their midweek win as Whitby Town’s first half onslaught was enough to put the game to bed.
On 24 minutes, a lightning Whitby counter-attack ended with left-back Coleby Shepherd running into space before driving home into the bottom corner.
Marine had claims for a penalty waved away after forward Manasse Mampala went down in the box under a strong challenge.
Ten minutes later, Junior Mondal doubled Whitby’s lead, unleashing a shot from distance past Felix Goddard.
