AN EQUALISER from sub Josh Solomon-Davies in injury time denied Basford United a first win of the new season at Greenwich Avenue.
Matt Thornhill put United ahead in the 19th minute with a thunderous strike before a late spell of pressure saw Solomon-Davies fire home for Atherton, who took an unlikely point back to Greater Manchester.
After just 28 seconds, Remaye Campbell forced Colls keeper Nico De Freitas-Hansen into a smart save, before Jaz Goundry headed just over from Thornhill’s dangerous cross.
