ON a scorching September Saturday, it was Hanwell who took the three points in a tight and evenly contested game. The game started slowly with neither side able to get a foothold and neither goalkeeper being called into action.
The defences were rarely tested as the game turned into an attritional midfield battle. Midway through the half there was a lengthy stoppage in play as Hanwell’s Elliot Benyon picked up a nasty-looking head injury and was unable to continue.
