York City’s new boss Neal Ardley says he has been appointed to manage the club, not just coach the team.
Since buying the club in June, owners Matt and Julie-Anne Uggla have spent heavily on recruiting players and spoken openly of their ambition to reach the National League play-offs.
But a dismal run of three defeats and three draws from their opening six games left York in the relegation zone and cost rookie manager Mikey Morton his job.
