AN UNFORTUNATE own goal from Dagenham’s Sam Ling brought an end to Hartlepool United’s three-game winless run in a tight encounter at Victoria Road.
The result leaves John Askey’s Pools positioned nicely in the play-off positions, but Ben Strevens’ Dagenham have lost two on the spin.
“We probably needed a bit of luck to keep a clean sheet,” Askey said after three games without a win.
