ISTHMIAN League North side Bury Town progressed to the first round proper for the first time since 2008 courtesy of victory away at Step 3 side Wingate & Finchley.
Town striker Jose Santa de la Paz scored the only goal of the game when he coolly slotted the ball past Ben Goode in the Wingate goal.
The only action of a dull first-half came when Luke Brown’s audacious effort struck the bar for the step 4 side. Soon after the restart, Bury Town carved their opposition open and took the lead which was totally against the run ...
