■ BASILDON eased to a victory at the Simarco Stadium on an afternoon for Witham Town to forget.
Basildon’s Samir Ali forced Matt Smith into a good save in the third minute but he put the Bees ahead two minutes later.
Callum Bloss shot just wide from a Basildon freekick before Ali scored his second after 38 minutes.
Rash Salau’s red card made life harder for Witham and Lewis Duberry made it 3-0 at the break.
