■ WINTERTON’S hopes of a fourth straight home win were comprehensively dashed by Ashington.
Immediate pressure from Ashington saw them take a sixth-minute lead through Connor Thomson following some slick attacking play.
Rangers started to apply some of their own pressure but were unable to capitalise and constantly left their own defence exposed to the Ashington attack.
Soon after half-time Ashington were able to score on the counter-attack with Wilson Kneeshaw applying the finishing touch.
